Merrimack Valley Teens

Making and Maturing Teenage Disciples of Jesus

We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is for every person at every moment – meaning, teens too! We want to help teens find the forgiveness, life, and freedom Jesus offers everyone, and then help them follow Him in every part of their lives. So, we would love to help you take your next step!

We offer several weekly programs that cater to different personalities and maturity levels and special events throughout the year designed to motivate, inspire, train, refresh, and encourage students. Everything that we do as a youth ministry is to achieve our five goals – so be sure to check those out below!

Our Goals

Our mission has led us to develop five specific and attainable goals that we pursue in everything that we do with every person that comes to our ministry.

  • We aren’t content with just knowing facts about God or accepting what someone else tells us about God. We want to have a personal connection with the God of the Universe who loves us passionately. So our goal is for every teen who comes to our ministry to walk away with a rich personal active faith in Jesus.

  • God showed us His love for us by dying for us when we didn’t deserve it. This kind of love is at the heart of our faith and is the inspiration for our love for others. More than just doing nice things for our neighbors, we want to foster a love for the world around us based on God’s love for us.

  • Growth is a central part of the Christian faith. God didn’t save us for us to keep living the way we were without Him. He invites us to grow into who He has made us to be. We believe He has given us several specific ways we can grow in Him and we want to train teens so they can continue to grow long after they’ve graduated.

  • We are built for community! We believe that God is three-in-one in a mystery called the Trinity, so community is at the very heart of God’s nature. We’re made in God’s image so that’s a part of our nature too. We want to give the skills and knowledge teens need to create and maintain healthy relationships in community with their parents, friends, teachers, church, and everyone else God leads into their lives.

  • Almost everyone will agree that teenage years are for learning how to ‘adult’. The Bible is filled with God’s wisdom, which is knowledge applied to live life the way it was meant to be lived. We want to give everyone the knowledge, skill, practice, and ability to make wise decisions for themselves as they learn how to navigate the world around them.

Teen Life

Come hang out, worship, and grow with us on Wednesday nights at 6:45 p.m. in the Annex.

The middle of the week is the perfect time to be reminded what it means to love and be loved by Jesus. In the middle of your responsibilities, stresses, and distractions, come together with other teens like you to be reminded of who Jesus is, what He’s done, and what He wants to do in and through you now.

At Teen Life, you’ll play games, sing songs, meet new friends, get connected with a small group and a mentor, and learn from messages from the Bible specifically meant for students in 7th – 12th grade.

Can’t make it in person? Missed a week? We livestream Teen Life every week on our YouTube channel .

Teens’ Sunday School

Study and talk about the Bible with other teens on Sunday mornings at 8:45 a.m. in Room 114.

We believe growth happens best in the context of relationships, so we get together each week to study a book of the Bible together. We learn more and help each other grow by talking through the lessons out loud with each other, discussing what it means for disciples of Jesus today, asking honest questions, finding solid biblical answers, and learning how to study the Bible well.

We’d love to have you join us as we learn what the Bible says and what it means for our lives today.

Service Teams

Showing love to others and stretching our faith through action is an important aspect of MVT. We try to give students opportunities to serve others that make sense to each student’s passions and talents.

Student Impact

Second Wednesday of every month – 3:15 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Main Church Building

Student Impact is our team of students who meet once a month to do community service projects in our local area. Projects this past year have included making hats for a children’s home, yard work for a local business, writing letters to missionaries and local pastors, and running a carnival for community members.

Greet Squad

Wednesdays – 6:15 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Annex

Everyone that comes to Youth Group should feel welcome and accepted! To ensure that, we have a group of students who commit themselves to taking on the awkward so that guests won’t have to. They reach out, start conversations, connect new friends, maintain our space, explain the program, and answer questions for everyone that comes in through the door!

Worship Team

Wednesdays – 6:00 p.m. Practice at the Annex

Worship music is a creative expression of adoration for God. We are blessed to have a team of students who lead us to worship every week at Youth Group through heart-felt, thoughtful words and music. They meet every Wednesday before Youth Group to practice.

Tech Crew

Wednesdays – 6:15 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. at the Annex

What happens on stage would be difficult without the people behind the scenes. We use lights, projection, and sound mixing as an opportunity for teens to let their technical gifts shine and grow their abilities for future ministries. Every member of our Tech Crew is individually trained and continually taught on different techniques and skills helpful in any A/V ministry.
